(The MFT top has a series of precise 20mm holes and my existing top was going to be used as the pattern)In the past I had used a Freud bit which worked fine but I was making a new top so I decided to purchase a new bit. However, the CMT bit is slightly undersized compared to the bearing by about .005" which is enough so that my metal dogs will not fit into the holes. This usually would not be a problem with most patterns but in my case it would not workI also tried the Amana and Whiteside bit - same thing. (Whiteside says they deliberately undersize the bit so that it will not cut into the pattern)I ended up buying another Freud bit - and it is exact - the bearing diameter matches the bit diameterSo if your looking for an exact 1/2" flush cutting pattern bit - buy the Freud ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Very good while it lasted. *by S***A on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2015* I used this bit to cut six large parts (maybe 85 feet of cutting overall) before the patterning bit on top separated from the cutting area.
