If you want it loose then you would definitely have to size up. Unless you're going for the snug look than stick with your size. This is the second year getting this particular hoodie for my son (from different sellers) and they all fit the same. It looks really good on him and clearly he loves it. It does not have a lining FYI. He is only a pre-teen, but he's 5'8 170 lbs. He is a tall and skinny kid and we had to get this in the XL because his other one in the size L was fitting him real snug and starting to get uncomfortable. If you're not skinny and you want it loose you would likely have to go u up 2 sizes.. It fit perfectly under his winter coat as an added layer and now he just wears it as its because it's thin. Win win. I will add pictures on a later day because at his age he doesn't allow photos...
