Review: Great alternative to pork version of lap xuong - Make sure you understand what you are getting. This isn't anything like a sausage you would get at an American grocery store. It is sweet, and that is how it is supposed to be. It is a chicken version of the Chinese style lap xuong, so for anyone who doesn't eat pork, but still wants this style sausage, this is perfect. My only complaint is it is so much more expensive than pork version for what you get..only 4 sausages per pack.

**Q: What is the casing made of?**
A: I dont know but after the recall i just threw it away

**Q: What kind of casing is this sausage made with?**
A: I purchased a few years ago and was excited that it was supposed to be pork free.  Unfortunately, the casing says,”hog” as you can see by zooming in the ingredients section of the package photo.

**Q: what are the ingredients?**
A: I don’t know all the ingredients - just chicken and whatever they use to cure it.

**Q: Is this gluten free?**
A: There’s soy sauce, which has wheat in it.

Make sure you understand what you are getting. This isn't anything like a sausage you would get at an American grocery store. It is sweet, and that is how it is supposed to be. It is a chicken version of the Chinese style lap xuong, so for anyone who doesn't eat pork, but still wants this style sausage, this is perfect. My only complaint is it is so much more expensive than pork version for what you get..only 4 sausages per pack.

I like sweet Chinese sausage, and this is my fave so far. Other brands are way too sweet, seeming like candy. I like using this as part of a blend- grinding it with chicken and pork to make burgers. The only one I buy now.
