The two halves of the case came loose several times in my makeup bag. Unfortunately, because the file is glued into one half of the case, any slight lateral pressure on the cover when it is not fully secure will put a lot of force on the glass file itself. For me, this inevitably led to the file breaking off inside the cover.The way the cover is rounded/angled off at the overlap point looks nice, but it decreases the actual amount of overlap between the two halves. Since only friction holds the two halves together (no positive latch or "snap" together), less overlap = less friction = weaker connection. This is a good idea for a product, but it was not executed well.I tossed mine after it broke and replaced it withΒ  Nail Tek Mini Crystal File with Pink Case Β which has a greater overlap between the two halves of the cover. I've been happy with it except for how it lacks a pointed end to the file like the Mont Bleu one has.
