If not, any recommendations?** A: The scope does not come with flip up scope covers. I purchased Butler Creek ones and they work great. For the eye piece go with size 14-15-16 (their sizing is weird) and for the objective go with 13-15. They work great and I have no complaints. **Q: Is it good in dark areas** A: Me owning both a 44mm and a 50mm I’d say if you want one for lower light go 50mm. I’ve heard that it doesn’t matter but like I said i have both.. the 50mm you can see earlier in the morning and later into the night.. only down side is if your facing a sun rise or a sun down the 50mm absorbs to much light causing a glare.. you can buy a screw in extender that takes care of that tho.. hope That helped **Q: will this scope hold up to the pounding of the AK47 recoil** A: This is an amazing scope. Like the others have said handling a 416 rigby and a 338 win mag itll hold up to the 7.62x39 for sure. I know ur thinking probably about the continual jarring of a semi automatic but this scope holds up just fine. Best thing is u cant go wrong with vortexes warranty. I have two a 2-7x32 on my 375 HH, and a 3-9x40 on my .30.06, and only had one issue on the 3-9x40 from a shooting trip after i got it home i guess it got knocked around too hard and there was like dirt inside of the glass. I called vortex they sent me a sgipping label and said well fix it ir replace it and in a week or two i got my scope back good as new. I love vortex the scopes are great, and the customer service cant be beat. **Q: What type of crosshairs does it have?** A: It has a duplex crosshairs, with the addition of three ballistic-drop-compensating (BDC) hash marks on the bottom part of the reticle. The hash marks are located at 1.5, 4.5 and 7.5 minutes of angle below the center. After watching/reading many reviews, I settled on the Vortex as my first “serious duty” scope.“Cliff Notes” :Looks dopePicture sight is dopeTurrets are dopeScope looks amazing on the AR platform and I can’t wait to take the .300 Blackout out to harvest some game with the scope.Picture is amazingly clear. Brilliant colors and very crisp image makes it easy to forget you are looking through an optic.Turrets work great and I had my rifle zeroed in only 4 shots (would have been less if I had taken the time to bore sight the scope, first). Each click gives a positive clicky feel and I detected no mushiness. The cheaper scopes have a tendency to need you to tap them with casings after each adjustment to help get them settled into place and the zero will wander a bit no matter how much you fuss with the adjustments, but that is all absent with the Vortex. Once you have the scope zeroed in, you can remove the turrets with a flathead and turn them back to their “zeroed” tick marks so that you can make small adjustments later (such as when using a different type of ammo) without losing where your main baseline zero is at.If you’re like me and not able to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a scope but are no longer interested in the cheap knockoffs, do not hesitate to go with the Vortex Crossfire II line of scopes. They are amazing scopes for the price.In my review photo, there are two or three shots that went too far to the right. Those are my own errors as I flinched during those shots.
