The sheepskin shows no blemishes, the stitching is strong and even, the color is as represented and the fit (XL) is spot on.This is sheepskin with the natural wool serving as the lining. I know it to be warm and durable. I would not have purchased anything made with rabbit fur (not durable) or 'faux' fur (faux is Chinese for kitten).The flaps can be fastened together by sheepskin straps with three snaps to allow adjustment. If fastened behind the hat as shown in the pictures, they keep the back of your neck covered. They can also be fastened on top, covering the sides of the hat. Because the top of the hat is made from a single round piece, like the top of a tin can, it doesn't look like the Elmer Fudd hats even when the flaps are up. Obviously, it can be worn with the ear flaps down - that's why I bought it. This larger size allowed room for a thin baklava. I couldn't find this version discounted and wondered if I'd made a mistake ordering at full price. No, I am thrilled with it. Sherling is dang warm. At zero F I'd find this too warm, or so it seemed. I folder the flaps back covering ears fully then snapped behind the ears. Hell of a hat.
