The stock High Pressure Oil Pump on your 6.0L Power Stroke is a known point of failure. Whether it's a leaking seal, or complete internal destruction, it's never convenient and can leave you stranded and your engine with severe damage. But even if your HPOP hasn't failed yet, the pump is considered to be a wear item and will need to be replaced eventually, especially if your truck has run up higher mileage than most.This Sinister Diesel High Pressure Oil Pump is designed to fit the 2003-2004 6.0L Power Stroke. Each one is remanufactured to the same OEM specifications that you would find in a dealer part, but without the high price tag. Each one is a drop-in replacement for your factory unit and requires no additional modification to fit so you can minimize down time and get your truck back on the road where it belongs. Because the HPOP equipped on the 6.0L Power Stroke is notorious for needing replacement sooner than expected, you should verify whether or not the pump is operating within its specified pressure between 3,000 and 4,000 psi at WOT and between 600-700 psi at idle. A minimum of 500 psi is needed to fire the injectors, but if your pump has failed then your truck will stall.
