Haven't needed to sharpen it yet, after daily use for three months. Carves meat well and slices through vegetables as if they are butter. It has a reassuring weight to it while not too heavy. I store it in its sheath in the sturdy box it arrived in, to preserve the blade, and carefully hand wash only.
