Most slip on shoes are too loose for me to wear comfortable because they slide off my foot as I walk. The elastic laces make shoes easy to slip in to and they stay on comfortably. There is enough give in the elastic to allow your shoe to stay securely on your foot without being too tight. Also you don't have to deal with constantly re-tying your shoes as often happens with my gym shoes. Or even worse fall by tripping on the laces.The only complaint that I have and the reason for 4 stars is that it is difficult to thread the laces through the lace locks. You have to squeeze the lace lock tightly to make the opening wide enough to push the laces through. I have tried other elastic laces and had the same problem. He used the first pair that we purchased for his golf shoes and he loves them hence we got him this product with three pairs. He plans to use those for his tennis shoes. I have them on the 2 pairs of shoes I wear the most and am considering putting them on my hiking shoes, too. I like the reflective feature since I sometimes walk at night. They make wearing tie shoes so easy and they retain where you set them so once you get them in the perfect spot, they won't move.
