Review: Holds up against the wind - I live in Michigan it can get pretty cold and windy. These flaps have great magnets that hold them in place during harsh winds. There is no leaky wind coming in around the door or flaps. This was worth the money; my dogs are so happy they can go in and out when they want and we don't have to worry about when we will be home after work.
Review: Good investment for pet - I wish I had bought this years ago. It’s given my dog more freedom and she’s much less bored. She no longer jumps on the slider at imaginary squirrels and foxes. I gave it 4 stars because it’s not perfect. The glass itself seems well insulated and the plastic flaps are thick. The problem is that there is nothing to secure the slider door to the edge of the pet door insert. I bought a separate metal bar to wedge in between but it’s not ideal and doesn’t lock. The pet door came with a little metal thing to lock the door in place but it didn’t fit on my door track. If the company could come up with a locking or attaching mechanism to the original door, it would be 5 stars. I don’t you can really find much better on the market though.

### ⭐⭐ Spent $700 for a damaged dog door

So first off my wife and I liked that this product was rated for severe weather and we live in rural Montana. We bit the bullet and paid $700, give or take a penny, and bought this dog door. Starting off strong it showed up damaged and wouldn't install in the sliding glass door completely or correctly (see first photo). This was probably due to the fact that it was packed in a flimsy cardboard box with absolutely NO foam padding except a thin layer at each corner. Secondly, the width of this door is so massive that it made our sliding glass door unusable. Once it was installed we realized that we were only going to have about 10 inches of opening to get through. This doesn't work for us because the sliding glass door is our main entrance and exit from the house. We will be returning this and going with a different product from a different company.
