Decided to get this as a replacement and boy it didn't disappoint me. This and my SE846 are just the perfect pair. I'm a treblehead so the Airy, Bright, and Sparkling sound signature of this DAP compensates the phenomenal bass of my SE846 which is just the perfect blend (bright + warm). Separation, soundstage, and positioning is miles away from the X5ii. Nonetheless, its worth the price. The setup I'm using is white filters for SE846 and stock EQ for the DAP. I haven't played around with it that much yet because I'm enjoying it very much and also I've only got it 2 days as of writing this review/comment and no doubt I'll discover more it has on its bags of goodies.The only gripe I had with it was just the button layout but I understand what they're aiming for and that's in the looks department which, trust me, it looks gorgeous. With an Aluminum Uni-body, build quality wise they nailed it. This DAP looks elegant, classy, and premium to hold and look at. A little bit heavy on the weight but hey it's a big 5600mAH LiOn battery, Though with the size of the battery one'd expect more playback time but I guess with all the processing going on behind the scene I would understand why it needs the big juice (see specs) overall the battery life in this bad boy is decent as I would get alteast 8~9hrs of playback time depending on the volume and how often I turn the screen on. Graphical User Interface is not the best and could get some improvement here and there but it's very responsive and not laggy, I have FW 4.3 installed as of writing this review and hopefully there'll be more FW update to be pushed out to further optimize the device. Though it might take a while to get used to navigating and setting up due to the button layout and assignment, it isn't confusing and everything is pretty much self-explanatory, overall it isn't a deal breaker. This player gets warm but not to a point that it'll burn/hurt you, I say that it's a nice hand warmer during winter time while listening to your favorite music.
