The base is attached to the clamp section with a single screw and (corroded), wingnut - though I always use these in one direction, so will be adding a brass hinge and a couple of cabin hooks to mine, after removing the screw - I don't need the swivelling facility and having it all fold Flat (flattish), will be more useful.
