It took a little bit of effort to hammer the hooks into the wall, since I wanted to hammer them into a stud for extra sturdiness, and it was worth it! The things won't budge with water and a plant to hold! I recommend hammering into a stud rather than just the wall, since your wall could be too thin to provide any support, and yes, you have to hammer the little nails in, not just a little!
