The material is very durable. Once thinner, it was also easier to glue on (more flexible). Are the 3 1/4 inch any longer or the same length?** A: SEEMINGLY, THE LENGTH OF THESE HEELS ARE THE SAME OR SLIGHTLY LONGER THAN THE WIDTH. I WOULD THEREFORE BUY 3 1/4 INCH WIDTH, GLUE THE HEELS TO THE SHOES CENTRALLY AND ALLOW THE ADHESIVE TIME TO SET. THE SURPLUS RUBBER CAN THEN BE PARED OFF USING STANLEY KNIFE BLADES, USING GREAT CARE TO AVOID REMOVING TOO MUCH RUBBER OR CUTTING YOURSELF.
