I bought this one to replace a very expense Tunze compact skimmer which did not last more than 18 months. I am using this skimmer for a 90 gallon marine aquarium with just fish and a ton of live rock (no corals or anything). First - This thing is extremely well-packed. Good quality boxes and packing material. I happened to buy this skimmer with a Mag700 pump. This came shipped with the skimmer but in a separate box. I unpacked the skimmer and motor and attached the 2 with some 3/4 ID silicone hose. NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN TUBING. THIS IS NOT INCLUDED! I followed the brief and easy directions by attaching the pump to the skimmer. I then attached the outlet valve. Next, I just set the skimmer in sump and plugged it in. I am not joking when I say that it was producing thick foam in less than 2 hours. The next morning (12 hours later), I had a 1/4" of thick, nasty funk in the collection cup. I have had it running for just 4 days and did a water change today. True to their word, I turned it off, did my water change and turned everything back on. It went right back to making foam like a champ. This is BY FAR the BEST skimmer I have owned. I cannot say enough good things about the simplicity of the unit, ease of use and amount of gunk it is removing from the water. Pump works well too. Recommend to all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Most Potent Skimmer on small pumps out there *by E***E on February 13, 2012* Use a RIO 2500 and their latest generation computer designed inlet jet. On my 180 reef ORP 350 is a piece of cake. All the way to 400+ with no charcoal just 200 micron bags and the skimmer, biopellet reactor. Have alot of major NW designs and only could get to 280-300 ORP. Have used so many major Needle wheel skimmers and none to could touch this skimmer. Very Very efficient and the reaction chamber is so violent not gentle like the NW skimmers. When the biopellet reactor bloomed and shut down the nw designs this kept skimming. Can't say enough about this. Use just the nipple to a tee like a standpipe.
