It did require me to screw in two screws to the base (all tools included). The base is heavy enough that the lamp is sturdy but it is not too heavy. My boys like turning the lamp on and off with the floor switch.The light is bright enough that it can light up an entire room but it would still be a bit dim if it is a large room (like a living room or family room). ### ⭐ Awful awful awful *by A***I on Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2019* I am entirely disappointed in this product. I bought two of these lamps. I am returning both. The stand the lamp sits on needs two screws and the foundation where the screws go is entirely stripped and will not connect. The assembly is near impossible because screws are too short and they give you the tiniest Allen wrench I’ve ever seen in my life.
