The clip is big enough so I can clip it to electronic piano stands, but still tough with upright pianos depending on the model. I also like how it can be plugged in or battery operated in case a plug isn't close by. It arrived on time, well packaged and in perfect condition. It has an optional power cord (approximately 6 feet) or 3AAA batteries (not provided). I opted to use the batteries as the cord wasn't long enough for my purposes. The batteries fit loosely in the compartment but with a piece of tape to keep them securely in place it works fine. I was concerned that the pressure of the clip might damage the wood and was happy to see that there is rubber padding to protect the wood. Once in place, the light worked just as I had hoped. It has two settings (hi/lo) and the flexibility to direct the light where needed. The low is not enough light for me but the high puts plenty of light on the music. The appearance is sleek and unobtrusive. However, when I turned it on today (for only the third time), the light is so dim you can't even tell it is on. I exchanged the batteries, but this had no effect on it.
