I searched high and low and tried countless methods for safely exfoliating my soft sensitive skin before and after shaving, but always ended up with ingrowns and razor bumps, and/or some really raw and tender skin from the exfoliation process.These feel like big marshmallows, yet somehow leave no stubborn stubble left behind to fester into my delicate skin. They’re also great for my face and have made a major difference in my pores, gently and gradually removing whiteheads.I use the rectangular one for my whole body in place of a loofah. That takes a little getting used to, as any proper exfoliation method will.I’ve tried several brands of konjac sponges and so far these have outlasted any other brand I’ve tried—I’m still using all 3 sponges daily (one for my face, one for body, and one for more delicate parts). They can be used with cleanser or face scrub or just as they are.I clean them with hot water and then microwave them wet for 2 mins to kill all bacteria before each use. They hold up to all of it, no shredding or tearing and falling apart like others have after much less mileage. Just be gentle with them when cleaning—lightly squeeze water out with fingertips rather than wringing them out, and hang to let them dry. I don’t know if the French red clay makes a difference vs charcoal or green tea or any other variety, to be honest they’ve all seemed to work about the same to me; however this brand is undoubtedly more durable than others out there at the same price point.
