Just make sure they state the same. Also, be sure and tighten the ligature good as it has a tendency to slide when taking the mouth piece from the clarinet. Good Ligature for the price. Thank you. Richard. **Q: Is this the original model or the new model?** A: I'm not sure what the original Luyben ligature looked like, but this one is the same as those that I bought about 10 years ago. I remember that there was some discussion of the design on a clarinet bulletin board some years ago where it was stated that Luyben had updated the moulds and that the new ligatures were the same basic design as the old ones but with better detailing.
