I am a semi-pro and have been playing for 15 years. I used to have a paddle that was soft rubber like this, but I'm sure it wasn't at the same level. Long story short, this paddle blew me away. First, I don't play often, and would rate myself as an above-average casual player. I've always been decent with my serves, but hard-hitting volleys were never my thing. But once I started using this paddle, my game play dramatically improved! Suddenly I was able to drop the ball onto the table with a hard hit-- something I had never done before. This paddle gives you so much more control over the ball, and if you literally spend 5 minutes on ChatGPT asking for some tips on how to hit the ball, your game will exponentially improve. If you want to enjoy playing table tennis more-- and be a lot better at it with minimal effort-- then buy this paddle.
