I also popped, not sure if this is necessary but just mention it as I did this, I popped a few grains of sugar into the gel. The following day I saw the little beasties marching. The second day, not a single ant was spotted. It has now been a week, and still have not spotted any. I have washed, dried and reapplied the gel to the 2 p coin, and it is staying there until the ants have done the horrendous flying ants thing they do each year, where we scramble to close all the windows. Followed instructions and no change in a month, in fact problem was worse. Then tried this gel by lifting the grass gently with a fork, then squirting a few drops in the hole, then replacing grass. Problem solved in a day. Good stuff. Only niggle is the tubes are very small.
