If you are trying to get OS 9 on your mac, I had the most luck using QEMU to install the os onto the drive before booting. Either way, it's a wonder stuff like this exists and it's a great price.

Should listened to all the recommendations that day skip the green generic ones. Tried It first and it immediately gave issues and kept locking up the drive after about 10 mins of use. No issue with the startech so far and it allows me to use a 2.5 to 3.5 tray without having to modify the Xbox 3.5 caddy which the generic green one would have required

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Sata drive to IDE converter that works well

This product works great. I have three of them in one of my machine. To be clear, it converts a sata drive to IDE so it can be plugged into an old machine that is IDE only. It does not convert an IDE drive to sata. I have tried it on multiple HDDs and two optical drives. I have had no issues just leaving everything as cable select. If you want a device to convert an IDE drive to sata, try this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081YP2S5R. Unfortunately, StarTech doesn't seem to make one of these, so I have to plug one of their competitors instead.
