You can't do a fast retrieve or even a slow one-of-a-kind messes up the action. But when in a "sweet spot" retrieve, the action is great. Took the lure out of the box and straight to the pond. It's definitely going to catch big bass. Proof is in the picture. I didn't give it a 5 star simply because it's a 1 trick pony (retrieve wise) it's better than plastic so get it, BUT it's hard plastic so if you get it on the rocks- it will scratch up. Then it makes the lure reel in all skiddy whompis in huge loop to loops.
