It took me about 1/2 hr. to put it together. Yes, the thin, padded bench could be sturdier and not emit an odd chemical smell. Yes, the velcro leg band could have not had an equally strong smelling odd odor. But, other than the above minor issues, this bench (when used correctly) allowed me to gain much more flexibility in just 1 week. It really hurt the first few days but after that, it became easier. I even went and bought light leg weights to use for the 2nd week. 20 minutes each leg every day has allowed me to get up faster from a sitting chair position and alleviated some pain when getting up after kneeling for a few minutes. I couldn't do anything about the reddish color of the frame but I did replace the woefully thin bench top and chemically smelling vinyl material with a piece of solid 3/4" birch plywood wrapped with a yoga mat and upholstered with a piece of cream colored leather from the local fabric shop. It not only looks great now, but it's solid enough now for a 200+ lbs person. I'm not going to lie, it's a pricey piece of equipment especially with shipping. But if you're handy with wood you can totally duplicate.
