They are still fun to read, but lack a certain depth and complexity that we've come to enjoy from the show. In terms of storyline, there are some awkward jumps in logic. As for writing style, the author relies a little too heavily on dialogue. It's easy to add your own flare in based on what you know about the characters in the show, but it is not given on the page. I do like that the books have a little more sex and cursing than the show (it fits the characters), but at times V comes across as a little too crude and not the effortlessly elegant way Jodie portrays her (i.e., "our Villanelle" would never get head from a gross stranger in an alleyway). Basically, if you are obsessed with the show and want to read the 'original version' of the story and characters, this is worth the time.
