No matter what I did, I could not get either receiver to function correctly. Thinking that perhaps it was a problem with the doorbell button (transmitter), I paired it with another manufacturer's doorbell receiver and it worked fine. So, two DOA (dead on arrival) receivers (or at least non-functional) and no response from the vendor when contacted through Amazon. Will not buy this product or from this vendor again. The plus side? I got an additional doorbell button, which I wanted anyways.
