The trunk of the tree looks metallic in the pictures, but it is simply wire wrapped in reflective paper - not even tinfoil or metallic wrapping, but something more like Christmas wrapping paper. The base is also just plastic with a metallic paint finish.If you're expecting a good quality modern piece of lighted decoration for your house, this isn't it. I wouldn't even put this in my kids' rooms.On the plus side, I do like the idea of this.
