Review: Smooth Everyday Espresso That Rivals More Expensive Brands - This coffee has become a great daily driver for me. The flavor is very smooth and balanced without being overly bitter or harsh, making it easy to drink every day whether as espresso or in other drinks. The medium roast profile gives it a nice richness while still staying approachable and versatile. It produces a good crema and has a clean taste that honestly rivals some noticeably more expensive coffee brands I’ve tried. It is easy on the stomach and doesn't give any acidic reaction. Overall, this is an excellent value for a quality 100% Arabica whole bean espresso coffee. Smooth, reliable, and easy to enjoy daily.
Review: My go-to whole bean for espresso that doesn’t break the bank - I bought this because my old dark roast beans were tasting burnt in my semi-auto espresso machine and I wanted something smoother for daily lattes. I used to live in Florida, now I’m in Delaware, and I still travel a lot for work. At home I pull 2–3 shots every morning, and on the road I’ll grind a small jar to take with me for hotel drip makers. My expectations were simple: 100% Arabica, medium roast, no bitter aftertaste, and beans fresh enough to give me decent crema without costing a fortune. I didn’t expect third-wave specialty notes or rare microlots — just a solid, dependable espresso base. I’ve been through this 2.2 lb bag over about 5 weeks. I use it in a Breville Barista Express at home, a moka pot on weekends, and a standard drip machine when I have guests. Also ran it through a French press once just to see. How it actually tastes and performs Flavor: It’s a 5/10 intensity medium roast, and that feels right. The shot is smooth, balanced, with a little sweetness and mild fruit/floral notes on the nose. Not acidic, not ashy. Most buyers say it’s “rich and smooth” with “no bitterness” and that tracks. I get a light chocolate sweetness and a slightly smoky finish, especially as espresso. As drip, it’s easy drinking — no burnt rubber or sourness. Crema is good but not super thick; better on a pressurized basket than bottomless. Beans & freshness: Whole beans arrived with a roast date 3–4 weeks prior, oily but not dripping. Grind size is forgiving. I could dial in my grinder in two shots. Smell opening the bag is great — “devine” aroma as one person put it. No broken beans or quakers so far. Equipment: Works well in my espresso machine and people report it’s “perfect” with Barista Express and Saeco automatics. Also fine in moka, drip, and French press. It’s not oily enough to gum up a super-auto. Practical stuff The 2.2 lb bag lasts me over a month, so cost per shot is low. Value-wise, it’s hard to beat for a name-brand 100% Arabica espresso blend. You can pay triple for small-batch roasters, but for daily use this hits the sweet spot. Storage: Bag has a one-way valve. I roll it tight and clip it, keep it in the pantry. Flavor held up fine to the last cup. Travel: I’ll grind 4–5 days’ worth into a small container for hotel drip machines. It’s way better than hotel coffee and still tastes clean. Not trying to make espresso on the road, just a decent cup. Did it meet expectations? Yes. I wanted smooth, non-bitter, espresso-friendly beans that don’t require fussy dialing-in every morning. That’s exactly what I got. It’s not complex or wild — don’t expect blueberry bombs or wine-like acidity. If you want bright Kenyan or Ethiopian flavors, look elsewhere. If you want a mellow, crowd-pleasing espresso you can pull half-asleep, this does it. Pros - Smooth, balanced medium roast with no bitter aftertaste - Consistent beans and roast level bag to bag - Works in espresso, moka, drip, French press — very forgiving - Good crema for a medium roast 100% Arabica - 2.2 lb bag is good value; price per pound beats most specialty beans - Aroma is strong and pleasant right out of the bag Cons - Intensity is only 5/10 — not for dark roast fans who want punch - Flavor profile is mild; can get lost in big 16oz milk drinks - Not single origin or roast-dated to the day; roast dates vary - Crema is thinner than blends with Robusta, so straight espresso nerds might want more body - Bag is not resealable; you’ll need a clip or container Value for money For daily espresso and drip, it’s one of the best values in whole bean. You’re paying for consistency and a recognizable Italian profile, not hype. If I’m entertaining or just need caffeine that tastes good, I don’t think twice about using it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these beans waxed or non-waxed?**
A: I would say "non-waxed" (but I've never seen, or heard of "waxed" beans). They certainly don't look "waxed"!

**Q: Is this suitable for regular coffee or the super crema?**
A: It tastes fabulous in an inexpensive drip coffee maker. I make the grounds a little smaller than standard drip specifications and an rewarded with a rich flavor without bitterness. The beans are properly roasted with enough natural oils to impress me.

**Q: Is any one using this in a super automatic espresso maker? Specifically Gaggia Berea?**
A: You can use it yes . Should be fine to use any Lavazza :)

**Q: when did you rosting that product?**
A: well, assuming you do not refer to the process of Fe-II or Fe-III oxydation... ;-)the only information you'll find on the package is that it's a "medium roast"and no date as to the harvest of the coffee beans or the subsequent roasting.
