There are only very very subtle differences between the real and this one and they are on the inside of the bag( like the heat stamping on the inside tag should be gold and instead it’s just embossed like the rest of the bag). These are not differences anyone is going to pick up on. The embossing is beautiful and consistent throughout the bag. It is made of real leather (as it should be for the price). The size is spot on and absolutely perfect for everyday. The shoulder strap is extremely comfortable! The hardware is beautiful and sturdy. I can’t say enough good things!The ONLY downside is that there was a strong chemical smell in the interior lining when I first received it, but one night of fresh air and some dryer sheets took care of that.I wanted a Montaigne so badly, but am not in a position to spend $3200 on a bag right now. This is the perfect alternative! It’s also a great way to try out the silhouette to see if it’s something that really works for me if I do decide to buy the authentic one day!If you’re questioning weather or not you should buy it, just go ahead and do it.
