These AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9's are no exception. With dual 802.11a and 802.11g radios, built in diversity technology, encryption and 15 non-overlapping channels these AP's are a great option to deploy wireless networking in almost any environment. The diversity technology minimizes most of the negative effects caused by deploying access points in challenging environments such as factories, warehouses and retail stores where obstructions such as metal racking and structural variations cause wireless signals to reflect and delay before they are received. Diversity utilizes two antennas instead of one to essentially "pick" the best signal. Due to the antennas being in separate physical locations (both housed within the case of the LAP1131AG) they are able to sample two different zones in the transmission range. This increases the likelihood the access point will field a signal that's usable. It will "see" the same signal from two different points of view, compare them, and then pick the one that most intelligible.
