It dilutes approximately one part dye to ten parts water (you can experiment with the dilution ratio to strengthen or weaken the colour) so just use as much as necessary for the job and leave the rest in the bottle for future use. **Q: Whats the coverage on theese 15ml tubs ?? Im useing three diffrent shades for a sunburst finish on a guitar !** A: Rest Express - Wood Finishing Products: Liberon don't quote a specific coverage for this product as it will depend on the degree of dilution. A little goes a very long way, so perhaps the best thing to do is experiment with how much dilution you use to get the shade you need. **Q: can this dye be mixed with liberon liquid clear wax?** A: The dye is water based and won't mix with wax - solid or liquid. Best to apply first wait until fully dry and then wax on top. The dye should be added to water to required intensity of colour. Several applications should be made to build up colour. The recommended dilution is so wrong. 1:10 goes on like paint. I spent the better part of two days sanding by hand to recover the guitar body I was trying to dye. Start with 1:20 and build up from there.2. Most importantly, this dye is not black, but very dark blue. What's the issue you may ask? Try mixing a dark walnut or mahogany colour, and see it dry purple instead. It's fine on it's own but no good for mixing.If you are looking for a darkener, buy the 3 primary colours (red, blue, yellow), and mix equal parts of all three for a convincing black. You can mix almost every other colour with these too, including the "black" that this pot contains, so honestly, there are better options. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great *by P***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 July 2019* I always use liberon products when I can, I restore old clocks for a hobby and find the quality of their products excellent.
