When I received this I was disappointed. Examining it out of the box I noted that the bottom plate is warped and that the flywheel has abrasions that detract from its appearance. The warp of the bottom plate is not severe and is only visible through reflections. The next issue was disappointing performance. A boiling hot cup of water would only run it for a few minutes. Placing ice cubes on the top got a few more minutes. I read (or think I read) that these were tested during manufacture. I decided that I would make an adjustment. I noted that the shaft had very little lateral play and adjusted that to be fairly loose. Now that same hot water gets me two hours and fifteen minutes of run time.
