Very tight fit lid. Carafe can be placed directly on surfaces without trivet but sides do get hot so touch handle only. Small footprint, perfect for my tiny apartment. The color is more peach than pink but is still lovely. Heats 1 cup of water in 1 min 20 seconds. Maximum amount of water is 2 cups. This is perfect for 1 person. I love it and use it a few times a day.My only complaint is you can't empty this completely. It leaves a little water on bottom so even when boiling 2 cups you will not get precisely 2 cups water.But it's the smallest I've found and is very nice looking. It would travel well. Sits next to my Nespresso.
