Shred the slopes in the snow with our fully formed, lightweight helmet. It’s certified with an ABS exterior and an EPS interior. The front mini visor is shaped to accommodate ski goggles and there’s a clip on the back to secure them. The inside is lined with a fleece netted cap to wick away moisture and keep you warm. The mesh material improves ventilation throughout the helmet while the embroidered logo is just there to look fancy. The earmuffs are warm, protective, and removable. This helmet has 14 vents: 6 on the top, 6 in the front, and 2 in the back. The vents are designed to keep you dry and your body temperature regular. There are two additional layers inside of this helmet. A wire mesh provides more structure while a cloth mesh helps to transfer and evaporate sweat. Was looking at helmets from the major retailers in the area and they were all 200+. Ordered this with expectation to return but ended up keeping it. It's great. Comfortable and shockingly warm. I do agree with the chin strap being very short but with a little bit of Redneck creative engineering I was able to lengthen the strap by creating an extension out of elastic shock cord. Now it fits perfect with flex when looking up and down. I'm not going to downgrade to 4 stars because of a stupid oversight on the strap length. These two features alone make this helmet the ideal choice for year-round cycling in northern climates. The shell is very solid -- a real plus when riding on dirt roads or other irregular surfaces. This is helmet is a great choice -- fits real well, made quite well, and looks good to boot!. The strap retainer on the rear feels strong so I don't foresee having any issues with it. The ear padding should help reduce some wind during the winter, but I am still going to wear a balaclava underneath.
