I have no idea how they keep striping these but I keep one on hand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fixed leak around 2013 Touareg TDI oil drain plug *by B***. on November 9, 2023* I have had an oil leak around the engine oil drain plug that seemed to be where the steel insert was pressed into the pan. I tried unsuccessfully during 3 oil changes to use a washer buildup that would keep the oil from dripping from the insert. It leaked about 1 quart of oil per month, costing about 80.00 dollars a year to add oil between oil changes. Several times a year I had to clean the drain pan on the garage floor that I used to collect that leaking oil. It only leaked statically.With this plug (Dorman 65396) I was able to cut off the pilot extension with a hacksaw so that it would fit in the small space between the oil pan and the frame crossmember yet have sufficient threads to hold well. The width of the metal washer-like portion of the plug and the imbedded rubber gasket was broad enough to completely seal the leak. I have since removed the garage floor drain pan and have no need to add oil between oil changes.
