I get a better hold on the club and avoid blisters from trying to grip something too narrow in diameter. I prefer the softer Winn DSI, this particular model is what my son chose. It's a little firmer, and has a little more texture. Another thing I prefer about the Winn grip in this size is that it is light; about the same as a standard grip from other companies. Helps not to mess up your clubs swingweight. Other advantages of oversized grips are greater damping for miss hits or arthritic hands, and sometimes an easier grip for seniors. I guess the "con" would be some club makers feel Winn grips are harder to install because they are stiffer (not to be confused with feel after installation). I have never experienced that problem, to the contrary I find them easier to install.My buying guide: Find a shop that offers grips, Pick a size you like best, Make feel most important, Choose a texture you like, then put your list together. With this size grip you will probably have to shop at Amazon to get what you want. If you are not sure buy a couple and try them, if you dont like it cut it off and try another. However, after only one month of playing 3-4 times a week, the driver grip has almost worn thru where my right thumb is placed on the club. At least for my driver, I would not use these grips again.
