Review: Best Garmin Device Ever - This works great with the app. I first used a Garmin for step counting. Then I got into biking and the steps didn't register. This works great registering bike workouts on the app! The other bike device for motion sold by Garmin doesn't work on the app and you must ONLY buy this one to have the app working with the bike. I love it and use it daily.
Review: Best affordable bike speedo - I've tried a few cheaper speedometers for my road bike which is used exclusively on a trainer, including Cat Eye. I did one ride with both devices on and found them to be reasonably close over 15'ish miles. I really love how simple it is and how it immediately syncs up with my watch and the Garmin app. I choose to simply read the output directly on my watch so that I don't need to purchase another screen/monitor device. Works great!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it compatible with Garmin Vivioactive 3 watch?**
A: I use both cadence and speed sensors simultaneously with Vivoactive 3 plus a poar chest HR sensors. They work flawlesly always.

**Q: Does it fit on large hubs like ones found on mountain bikes?**
A: Yes, fits both 29er DT Swiss 350 hubs and 27.5 SRAM Roan 30 hubs on my MTB’s.

**Q: Does it work for Indoor cycling ?**
A: Yes, but with one caveat: mine is mounted on an LNow Spin Bike not around the hub, but flat against part of the wheel cover. Once the device wakes up, it transmits accurately the speed to my Garmin Instinct. My only problem is that the device does not always “wake up” without me having to pull then reinsert the battery. It’s a minor inconvenience but there isn’t really another option for Garmin Connect to capture my distance except to manually input it. I just hot glued the unit to the wheel and set the circumference on my App. Once the device is awake, the unit performs flawlessly. I just wish there was a better way to wake it up.

**Q: Does it mount directly to the wheel or do you need a separate Accessory to attach?**
A: It mounts to the hub

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Be on the lookout for possible counterfeit product.
*by R***O on September 19, 2022*

This is my second Speed Sensor 2 from Amazon. First unit purchased last year. Sold and shipped via Amazon. Sync'd with Gamin Connect app. Upgraded firmware. Using the sensor with a 3rd party cycling computer. Zero issues. The second unit I purchased was sold by a 3rd party vendor and shipped by Amazon. I had all sorts of problems with this unit. Problem #1. The unit came up on Garmin Connect app with an odd name. The correct name should be Speed Sensor 2. This unit came up as BSG 2 SPD(?). (I'm not 100% certain what the name was. The unit has already been returned to Amazon.) Problem #2. I could not update the firmware on the sensor. Tried multiple times, got multiple failures. Problem #3. I tried sync'ing the sensor to my cycling computer and it would sporadically send speed info. I have this weird feeling that this is some sort of counterfeit product. Problem #1 and #2 are dead giveaways for counterfeit products. I wrote this review to alert potential buyer to be on the lookout for counterfeit products. My overall rating is based on the legit Speed Sensor I purchased last year. It really works well.
