## Description

"Heart-leaf" Philodendron is probably one of the easiest house plants to grow. Place them nearly anywhere (except direct sun) and they will thrive. Allow the soil to dry about one inch from the surface before watering. Feed monthly with a balanced plant food. If your plant becomes leggy... just cut it back to the desired size. The cuttings are easily rooted in a container of water or vermiculite. Native to: Southern Brazil Growth habit: A trailing or climbing plant. When grown unsupported usually not over 12" in height. Vines can reach over 6 foot in length.

Package was wrapped and secured with Saran Wrap, genius. They laid them down on their side and the leaves facing each other and then they added shredded paper on top of soil, the soil was still moist. The photos pretty much say it all, so lush and healthy. Ordering more for sure.

Philodendrons are known as one of the easiest house plants to grow; that's why I chose this deal, because I wanted to gift my neighbor a plant for a kindness she did for me, and the bonus of getting one of these cuties for myself too --- was just too hard to resist. Now, coming up on a year later, I wanted to jump on here and give an update on my experience of ordering a house plant on line and to give an update on how my heart leaf phil is getting on. So, I had never ordered a plant on line, and was a little dubious about the process. Wouldn't you know, I just so happened to be the one who's order got held up on its journey across the country. When the plants arrived they had been packaged and without water for nearly two weeks (through snow, sleet and bitter cold weather). I was sure I'd open the package to see two little brown, wilted twigs, but they were both alive, though peaked. It is a testimony to the care the nursery put in to taking care of and shipping my little babies that they survived at all, and they were doing fairly well. I gave the plants a day to rest and then repotted and watered them. I fed them several days later, making sure their transition was slow and gentle, to avoid putting them into complete shock. Now all these months later, as you can see from my pics, my plant seems to be very happy. The plant has begun taking off, putting out new growth and starting to vine. I feed most of my house plants Shoultz green liguid plant food; usually just a couple drops every time I water. I also use the first nuckle meathod to determine if the plants are ready for water/food. This was a great buy!
