For those embarking on a career in merchant marine this is an indispensable go-to notebook. Its 30+ chapters are well organized and cover critical activities from Cargo Loading Analysis to Maintenance of Port Logs. I was particularly impressed by the presentation of material in a concise sequential manner - set out as bulleted text and accompanied by an adequate number of explanatory drawings and tabular data. Highly recommended for those prepping for a life at sea or in administrative mode of merchant navy operations. Looking forward to a software version of this book that can be deployed on a tablet or ipad.
