In a world where monsters called Yoma prey on humans and live among them in disguise, humanity's only hope is a new breed of warrior known as Claymores. Half human, half monster, these silver-eyed slayers possess supernatural strength but are condemned to fight their savage impulses or lose their humanity completely. Clare's first battle with the Yoma of Rabona has left her body drained and shattered. With no time to recover, she must face the creature again after it chooses Raki as its next victim. Luckily, Raki remembers that he is carrying Clare's trusted broadsword and manages to get it into her hands. But unlike Clare, the Yoma is fighting at full strength and thirsting for blood... Review: A Window into Claire's Background... and Perhaps Her Future? - Claymore Vol. 3 delves into the background of the titular member of the organization of monster-hunters called "Claymores". We see the background of how Clare met a Claymore, and, I'm guessing it will lead to how she became one eventually. It sounds like one of the extended story arcs I've heard about is coming up. What made me really like this volume was that with the ending of the previous arc, and the beginning of the next arc, with said flashback to Clare's past, it humanizes her. The mysterious and aloof warrior finally shows her heart and it makes her endearing. While I can see that Raki (her ordinary boy companion) is still obviously the main PoV character and audience surrogate, Clare is now much more interesting than she was before. Now, she no longer needs to be filtered through the lens of Raki's viewpoint. I can't think of much I didn't like about this story, except that I wish they had begun it in an official flashback method. Instead, we suddenly have a different era we quickly figure out is about a decade or two previously. It just felt disjointed as we left the current story, and suddenly we are at a different time period. That is about it for any criticisms that I have. This was a solid addition to the series. Review: Great buy! - This series is amazing! Its not at any books stores that sell Manga. Thank you for having the option to buy here! Book was in mint condition. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #171,742 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #224 in Seinen Manga #1,515 in Fantasy Manga (Books) #2,375 in Action & Adventure Manga (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 365 Reviews | ## Images ![Claymore, Vol. 3: Teresa of the Faint Smile - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91JKx1GZhIL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Window into Claire's Background... and Perhaps Her Future? *by M***N on August 1, 2014* Claymore Vol. 3 delves into the background of the titular member of the organization of monster-hunters called "Claymores".
