Reception is good and the sound quality is excellent. The controls are easy to use - I had a Pure radio years ago and the over-designed controls used to drive me mad; these are much more sensible.The little remote control is surprisingly useful - mainly to adjust the volume. It’s display is small, but easily readable, and being able to pause and rewind the digital scroll is a nice feature. The time and date shows when on standby, and the time still shows when playing. The sound quality is very good considering that it’s smaller than my previous radio. No difference in fact, and it’s plenty loud enough. For the cost, it’s very good value, being solidly built and a perfect size for my kitchen windowsill. I haven’t been able to find a kitchen timer function though, but I didn’t really want one, so not a problem. We already have a couple around the house - one being a radio alarm and both are Pure. However we did look around before we purchased and reviews do make a difference to what you buy. As a result we decided to buy this one, it was quite small which is what we wanted and we like simple to use.I think we were shocked when it came out of the box, although we had known the dimensions, it was smaller than I imagined, however even better! It was a doddle to set up with easy to use instructions and before long we were having lunch with Radio 2!For such a small radio I think the sound quality is excellent, in fairness I am no expert, but I do like hear people talk and feel like they are in the room with you or that music sounds great and this radio does that.
