Flat washers would be needed under the nuts. The nut is too large for a 5/8" wrench, but too small for an 11/16" wrench. A 17mm metric wrench fit just right. The Amazon close-up picture of the two nuts shows lug nuts, but the two supplied nuts are regular nuts, which have too much wobble as they are screwed down. Either the threaded rod or the nuts seem to be mis-sized.The rod diameter itself is smaller than 7/16". Finally, in my opinion, this U-bolt is too flimsy for a 205/75D15 tire and rim, but would probably work fine for a smaller tire/rim combination. Will be returning the item. ### ⭐ Does not include *LUG* nuts. *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2020* I should have read the product description more carefully. The product includes standard nuts, not *LUG* nuts which would help keep the spare tire in place. Caveat emptor. What I would like to see improved is making the 2 provided mounting nuts to be a size that a 4-way lug wrench could be used with, minimizing the need for another wrench to loosen the nuts provided. Convenience is king when on the road.
