(No, this is not a main part of her diet. We only give her a little bit when mixing it for her babies.) It mixes very well (and easily) and is not lumpy, which is important for making thin formula for very young babies and feeding through a syringe. Keeps well in the freezer between clutches. Worth the cost.

**Q: What does it mean when it says to mix 1 “part” with water?**
A: It means equal parts of formula / water
If you use 2 tbls of formula you will mix with 2 tbls of water.

**Q: What is the usual expiration date? Does it last two years?**
A: I  would use it if it has been in the freezer but if not I would not if it is 2 yrs pass expiration  date.

**Q: Is this for “all baby birds” as the package says? finches, doves and pigeons babies too?**
A: I think for all baby birds

**Q: Would this work for robin hatchlings? The fireworks last night scared away mom and baby was left behind on the ground away from any tree.**
A: If we can survive on another mothers milk as an abandoned baby…..I’m sure this formula will work just fine for a baby bird Robin 😉

I have tried another well known brand of formula and never liked it because of the gritty lumpy texture. This formula blends up so smooth. It smells wonderful and the babies I've hand fed with it really love it. I always end up making more than I need at one time, but it's ok because my adult birds actually enjoy this as a treat too and will beg for it when they see it. I use a few different Higgins foods for my birds. I was very impressed with the quality of their formula. I highly recommend this formula to anyone hand raising babies
