### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars

    Very Well Versed Teaching

*by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2013*

I found this book to be very informative although not conclusive. For further information on Dzogchen I would recommend "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying" by Sogyal Rinpoche and also the numerous books, You Tube videos and writings of Lama Surya Das. Finally, you can also check out www.dzogchen.org

    Mid-level study for Buddhists

*by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2009*

I bought this book for a Buddhist friend who has studied with Sogyal Rinpoche and read the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche. He is reading this book every day and is enjoying it. He says the book is helping him grow in his practice.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars

More esoteric teaching by the Dalai Lama than usually seen

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2024*

This is deeper writing and insight than is usual in HHDL's normal works. So for instance the following definition of enlightenment...“On the basis of the continuity of that subtle nature of our mind rests the capacity we have to attain enlightenment…. There dwells within us all this potential which allows us to awaken into buddhahood and attain omniscience.... When, at some future point, we do attain buddhahood, that subtle continuum of our awareness will awaken to a state of omniscience called Dharmakaya. The nature of mind at that point is what we term svabhavikakaya.”
