Whether doing a little or a lot, this gets the job done and I'm still able to get the cabbage to the perfect consistency for slaw that I always have to eat when I have fried fish and hush-puppies, hot-dogs or a pork barbecue sandwich. It is VERY SHARP which is the way a good chopping tool should be because THE TOOL DOES MOST OF THE WORK. The serrated edge on my Mom's Kwik-Kut is still very sharp after decades and I foresee mine lasting just as long.
