Constructed from 130g Primaloft Gold insulation, a waterproof insert, and our new DWR coated softshell outer, this Pearl Izumi classic utilizes a lobster claw design to keep hands and fingers warmer than a traditional full finger glove without compromising dexterity. Fleece lining is soft on the skin, and reflective elements increase visibility during lowlight rides.

very good down to at least 28F

First I have two disclaimers. It doesn't get that cold here (recent weather has gone down to 28F) and I usually don't feel cold. But given this, I really like these gloves and I thought I would write up my experiences. So recently we have been having some relative cold (this has happened before and I tried many different gloves). While I usually withstand cold well, going on a two hour ride in 28-32F weather has recently been unpleasant. I have come home with fingers that hurt and lack dexterity for 15 to 30 minutes. I went to the bike shop and got some regular (fingered) gloves and the problem remained. So on the advice of a friend (suggested mittens) I tried these. They have performed very well at these temperatures (I don't have any experience telling me how much colder they will go). At the end of a ride, my fingers are cold, but they have full dexterity (I type my strava blog right away) and they do not hurt as I warm them.I do believe that i t is possible to sweat in these gloves even when it is relatively cold outside. What does not seem to happen is what I call refrigerator gloves (which happens with every other glove that I have tried). What this means is that at some point (because the hand sweats?) many types of gloves start to hold the cold in. I realized that I really had a problem once when I took some gloves off and realized that my hands were warmer with those gloves off. So much of what I really like about these gloves is that they don't do this. I think that this might have to do with the type of material inside the glove which is a bit more absorbent.

Warm & comfortable for mountain biking

*by J***C on Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2018*

My hands stay warm and dry during single track trail mountain bike rides. My rides have been in mid 20F ambient temperatures with wetish conditions such as snow and fog. The fit is very good and they do not much inhibit operation of the handlebar controls (brakes, shifter, dropper post, etc...) They breath reasonable well. They do not have pads on the palm. The fit is tight when I wear padded bicycle gloves plus a thin base layer fingered glove underneath. Order one size larger if you intend to do so. I intend to use these for cross country skiing with a base layer fingered glove but without padded gloves so the tight fit with padded gloves while riding is an acceptable compromise for me. The gloves appear well made and durable but I have only accumulated roughly 8 hours of riding with them so far.

    Good stuff.

Well, just got them. Didn't use them yet. Will update after I do.Been riding mtn bike under 30 years and am experienced with winter riding. These gloves r Definetly gonna b really warm. Was out on a 4 hour 28 mile ride in 33°s with my lite winter riding gloves. Which have fingers and r polartec PowerShield. NOT a glove within a glove. These r a glove within a glove. As in liner sewn into a shell. Like a ski glove. I can see these being useful from upper 20°s F on down. The mitten lobster design will greatly increase warmth. Provided the shell is adequate. Which it will be since they r made by a Pearl for biking. Odds r I can wear these skiing no problem. Is really lobsterey. They should sell them in lobster red-orange. Haha
