Many torn ligaments in those days. I've always had muscles that felt tight no matter how long I'd stretch. As I got older, that tightness would become hard marble-like balls in my calves and what seemed like golf ball-sized knots in my upper back, shoulders etc. Soooo, I finally met a Chiropractor Manipulator who suggested I start taking Magnesium Malate. Starting with 200mg and move up to 800-1400mg per day over a period of one month and try to tolerate that 800-1400 for as long as I needed to. I've tried quite a few brands and most worked fine but most that are reasonably priced... $20-$40... don't have the "produced AND sourced in America" in addition to the "manufactured in a GMP registered facility." The brand Designs By Health has the latter but not the first. The Ahana nutrition dot com website reveals great care and all the details about the company, although I'd be even more comfortable if their product label provided the information above; not just on their website! Back to the Ahana Nutrition Magnesium Malate... it's working beautifully; the knots and tight muscles have pretty much vanished without the need of massage treatments or Chiro manipulations. Hopefully Ahana will consider adding some of the important symbols & phrases onto their product label. Thanks Ahana Nutrition!FYI:(By the way, with magnesium, you really need to start out on a low dose and move up gradually... and start it the evening before your day off; not a day where you're going to work. That goes for any magnesium and any brand. Although "malate" is usually not as harsh on your system as Citrate or Oxide. After the initial break-in time... whew that can be difficult but if your body accepts it after a month of slowly moving up in mg and finding your tummy's comfort zone, you'll do fine.
