The first was the oat; which I now know is more durable than the rest.(I actually ordered both the lemon, and the stem ginger at the same time.)As with the lemon, these came mostly in pieces because of their thin fragile nature. I love ginger, so these hit the spot!However, for some-- stem ginger might be a bit of a different taste experience than say a molasses ginger-snap.Being I had tried "Nairns Stem Ginger Oat Cookies", it wasn't a flavor shock. Plus, I LOVE ginger ale, and beer (such as from "Fever Tree").You will find little pieces of candied stem ginger throughout these cookies, in addition to the buttery taste of the shortbread.I would buy these again, if the price was right. But honestly, the lemon and oat flavors are better. ..I can't wait to try their plain shortbread!If you don't mind crumbly pieces, I'd say give this a try! I actually got them for half the price they normally are, so for less than $3, I can't complain too much.As for packaging, I'm not sure what more could be done to ensure the cookies arrive in whole condition. There's nothing to protect them in the thin cardboard box. 6 is stacked on top of one another (in 3 pairs), and packaged in a thin plastic barrier (you get 2 such packages per box).The fact that they come from the UK, could mean that they're damaged in transit to the US. I hope Waitrose could figure out a better packaging idea.
