Review: ... just opened my p115 today and I am in love. I upgraded from a lower end Casio - I just opened my p115 today and I am in love. I upgraded from a lower end Casio. I have tried the Casio Privia PX-150 (and its replacement, the PX-160) and I tried the PX-350. Although their touch was nice, none seemed to produce the sound I like from the p115. Honestly, I think the sampling sound is just much better on the p115. I did notice if I play pretty heavy that the speakers seem to clip just a tiny bit but honestly I don't really notice it and no one else will either (I'm picky of such things). It truly is a beautiful piano. I also tried the p105 and I felt a difference in both sound and touch. I know though technically isn't suppose to be a difference in sampling or the weighted keys, but it still felt this way. No regrets so far!! One of the best sounds from a digital piano I have heard (outside of computer samples). Review: Not Built for the Long Haul, and Not for Serious Players - I was impressed with this piano when I first received it. Eighty-eight keys, a bank of different sounds, nice clean, sleek look. After a while, I only preferred one piano sound for practicing with, the Gran Piano. Even that gets a little muddy-sounding in the lower registers, so not a clean capture of the realistic sound. On some of the presets, such as the Bright Grand Piano, you can hear the distinct spot (about an octave-and-a-half below Middle C) where the sampled sound changes, as if Yamaha didn't bother capturing each note but did a bit of sharing instead. Five years in, and I definitely would not invest the $700 for the unit. There are many keys where you can hear the keys rubbing and the "inside the unit" physical noise has become distracting. I am almost waiting for keys to stop working altogether. Bottom line -- this is a nice-looking unit for folks who want to dabble on the keys a few minutes a day or maybe just once a week for an hour. Since I retired nine months ago, I have been on the piano more than before, and every day I practice an hour of Hanon exercises using all of the keyboard except for a half octave at both the top and bottom of the register. I am not a pounder, but this almost gentle movement of my fingers for the last nine months has generated the majority of the noises I hear. I recommend for serious players to look elsewhere. Two stars. ## Features - The Pure CF Sound Engine faithfully reproduces the tone of a meticulously sampled Yamaha's acclaimed 9' CFIIIS concert grand piano, allowing for incredibly dynamic and expressive playing. - GHS weighted 88-key action is heavier in the low end and lighter in the high end, just like an acoustic piano. Headphones-Standard x 2 - Pianist Styles turn your simple chords into exciting accompaniment. Play a chord and the Pianist Style gives you a full piano accompaniment. - The Controller App for iOS devices adds a rich, graphic user interface allowing for quick and easy navigation and configuration. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00UJ9LMUY | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #264,532 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #741 in Home Digital Pianos | | Brand | Yamaha | | Brand Name | Yamaha | | Color | White | | Connectivity Technology | USB | | Connector Type | MIDI USB, 3.5mm Jack | | Customer Reviews | 3.4 out of 5 stars 22 Reviews | | Headphones Jack | 3.5mm Jack | | Included Components | Not Included | | Instrument | Digital Piano, Piano | | Item Dimensions | 58.2 x 16.1 x 11.8 inches | | Manufacturer | Yamaha PAC | | Manufacturer Part Number | P115WH | | Model Name | P115 | | Model Number | P115WH | | Number of Keys | 88 | | Operating System | Ios | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Size | Piano Only | | Skill Level | Intermediate | | Sound Profile | Balanced and Rich | | Special Feature | Weighted Keys | | Special Features | Weighted Keys | | Style | Amazon | | Supported Software | RM | | UPC | 086792997353 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | | Warranty Description | Limited 3-year warranty. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Yamaha - **Color:** White - **Number of Keys:** 88 - **Skill Level:** Professional - **Special Feature:** Weighted Keys ## Images ![P115 88-Key Weighted Action Digital Piano with Sustain Pedal, White - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61+4qi0FLmL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: What's the difference between p-255 and p-115?** A: One extra is that the polyphony is greater 256 instead of 128? But check specs online. **Q: Does P115 White also has adapter, music rest and a pedal?** A: The pedal sent with this piano barely worked. So I bought a new one. I don't have adapter and music rest in my P115 black. What are those? **Q: does this have an option of transpose** A: yes - not with the greatest of ease but by manipulating the buttons you can. **Q: What's the pedal situation for this? Does it come with a pedal? If not, is it only compatible with the 3-pedal unit or will others work as well?** A: Thanks for your interest. These do come with with pedals. Also, I have a bundle that includes a bench, stand and pedal for the same price. Here is the link:http://www.amazon.com/dp/B011E6SFJQCheck it out. Thanks again. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ... just opened my p115 today and I am in love.
