Its gonna take an hour or two. *by on Reviewed in the United States November 25, 2025* For the people saying this gasket does not work should not be changing their valve cover gasket.VW molded the gasket to the valve cover so when it goes bad you need to replace the whole valve cover.This give you the option to replace the gasket. That being said. You have to removed the molded gasket.What I found that works for me was to use a razor and cut the gasket flush with the valve cover. Then heat it from the bottom and then scrap the big stuff off. Then go through and wire brush the rest or wire wheel it off.I have not installed it yet. After I do and I have no leaks ill update it to 5 stars. 11/24/25Installed it with glue and i have no leaks ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect fit. Gasket so much better. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked great, just took some time *by on Reviewed in the United States December 15, 2021* Had to trim one of the grooves on the gasket to get a good fit. Gasket worked great but what a pita to get the old one off. I took out the plastic insert inside the valve cover, and used a map torch to heat up the top side and scraped out the old gasket with a flatbread and used a dremmel to clean the little stuff out. I rtv’d then stuck the gasket it and it went it really easy.
